Life Lessons
Fear—oh yes, dear reader, I know it well.
The nature of fear is on my mind this morning—how crippling it can be; how it limits all we can be and all we can do; how like a mean-spirited thief, it creeps in, holds us, like hostages, in its grip and then goes about smashing our hopes, wishes, and dreams into smithereens, leaving them and sometimes us, in a heap.
As I joyfully prepare for a full day of workshops tomorrow, my thoughts go back to the very first workshop I ever presented—and to all the fears and doubts and worries that took over nearly all of my waking hours the whole week before. What might be today had I let those fears, doubts and worries have their way with me?
