A New Beginning
Today, the first day of the tenth year of Bedside Harp, I am filled with delight, gratitude, and tons of ideas. I can remember feeling this way ten years ago, but back then, one other emotion ran through me—fear. O my, how afraid I was back then—of failure, of rejection, of not measuring up, of so, so many other things.
Through these years, I’ve experienced success as well as failure. Along with my accomplishments, I made mistakes. I’ve experienced great joy and have felt grave disappointment. Through it all though, something rather extraordinary happened—my fears and trepidations seem to have transformed into a knowing—a knowing that every day I will do my very best. A knowing too, that that will not only be enough, it will be a most exquisite way to live the rest of my life.
I can only imagine how utterly amazing the next ten years are likely to be.
“Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.” –Marie Curie
“Obstacles are like wild animals. They are cowards but they will bluff you if they can. If they see you are afraid of them… they are liable to spring upon you; but if you look them squarely in the eye, they will slink out of sight.” –Orison Swett Marden
“To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.” –Bertrand Russell
Enjoy your day!
