A Wedding!
Goin’ to the chapel—I mean, to the beach—this Friday—my daughter’s getting married. I go off joyfully—this is the moment I’ve lived for—to know she’s found true love and happiness.
Life was not always easy for my daughter and me. For seven years it was just the two of us, subsisting on my meager paycheck, watching out for each other. “You and Me Against the World” was our song, and I sang it to her often. Somehow, and to this day, I’m not sure how, we got through all the challenges and obstacles and now, this Friday, she will walk onto the beach in a beautiful wedding gown to marry the man of her dreams.
May they be blessed with many long years of health, happiness and love. L’chaim!
