Delete List
I logged onto my email this morning and was overwhelmed by all the spam that arrived in the night. So of course, I began the process of deleting.
And then it occurred to me how wonderful it would be if all we had to do was to check a box and hit the “delete” key to rid ourselves of anything we did not want in our life — anything that got in the way of a sweeter, happier existence.
What my delete list would look like? Global issues rushed forth immediately.
Pain and suffering? Delete for sure.
War? Delete, Delete, Delete.
Poverty? Delete.
Oppression? Delete.
Sickness? Delete.
Coming up with a personal delete list though was far more challenging. What would I hit the delete key to rid myself of in my personal life?
Familial squabbles? Delete.
Overeating? Definitely! Delete. Delete. Delete. Delete. Delete. Delete.
There’s got to be more than two . . . So that’s what I’ll be thinking about throughout the day. I’m hoping that once I identify those things I really, truly want to delete from my life, I’ll do what I need to make them disappear.
“With each sunrise, we start anew.” — Anon.
“Action is the foundational key to all success.” — Pablo Picasso
“The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.” — Vince Lombardi
“Every time you are tempted to react in the same old way, ask if you want to be a prisoner of the past or a pioneer of the future.” — Deepak Chopra
May you have the will and the courage and the strength to hold fast to only that which makes your life sweeter and to delete all the rest.
