Fleeing to the Shore
I’ll be gone for the next couple days—finally some time off for good behavior! I’m off to the vacation spot of my childhood—the South Jersey shore to breathe in sea air, stroll the boardwalk, eat fresh seafood, rest and relax, Will I, in two days, be able to restore myself enough to meet all that awaits me upon my return? I sure hope so. If not, I may have to do this more often.
” “A vacation is having nothing to do and having all day to do it in. ” –Robert Orben
” Oh, why can’t we break away from all this, just you and I, and lodge with my fleas in the hills? I mean, flee to my lodge in the hills. –S.J. Perelman, Will B. Johnstone, and Arthur Sheekman, Monkey Business
” There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.”—Nelson Mandela
