Hate
I was jolted out of my seat over the sports portion of last night’s news. The question under discussion: would the Philadelphia Flyers be able to muster enough hate for the Chicago Blackhawks to win the highly coveted Stanley Cup? Surface hate will not suffice, the newscaster stressed, the hate our team needs to feel has to come from the very hearts of the players.
Whoa—this is sports?
“Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.”—Coretta Scott King
”Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.” –Martin Luther King Jr.
” Hate is contagious, like a cancer. It goes from one cell to another, one root to another, one person to another, one group to another. If it’s not stopped, it can invade the a whole country, the whole world.”—Elie Wiesel
May you feel and offer love today wiith all your heart and all your soul—even if it means you lose the game.
Enjoy your day!
