Holding Onto Stuff
Laid up with the flu all day yesterday, I wound up watching a lot of tv—mostly back-to-back episodes of the exceedingly depressing, “Hoarders: Buried Alive” show. Two hours into it, I started questioning what the allure was—why didn’t I just switch channels?
Probably because I could relate to the subject. And probably because I wanted to scare myself. It worked—I will devote the rest of the summer clearing out the excesses cluttering and complicating my life.
“The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak. “ –Hans Hofmann, Introduction to the Bootstrap, 1993
“Everything we possess that is not necessary for life or happiness becomes a burden, and scarcely a day passes that we do not add to it.” –Robert Brault
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”—Leonardo DaVinci
Enjoy your day!

Hello, Edie! Sorry to hear you had the flu; hope you are feeling much better today! It is amazing how clutter happens so quickly - thanks for reminding me to simplify! Blessings and love, Jane
