Hospital Snapshot
A patient sitting on the edge of her bed in a room at the far end of the hall caught my eye as soon as I entered the unit. Not taking her eyes off of me, she reached for a second johnny gown before standing up and moving closer to the door. Our eyes met, we smiled, and then, in as if on cue, began humming the melodies that floated out of my little harp. A hospital employee approached. He looked first at me and then at the patient before grabbing his mop-partner and cutting a few steps in time with the beat. Smiling nurses and doctors alike paused and smiled.
Who would have guessed such fun could be had in a hospital’s Progressive Care Unit?

Edie, what a wonderful moment! We can say so much, without words, when we make eye-to-eye contact, as you did! And it never ceases to amaze me how much joy and caring our harps bring to others! Thanks for sharing this experience! Blessings and love, Jane
