New Waters
I did it—I got contact lenses last week. Haven’t worn them for twenty years, so it’s like starting from scratch. They felt amazingly comfortable from the start, which really surprised me. Long, long ago, I wore the hard lenses, then later, went to the semi-permeable. It always felt like I had something in my eye, so soon after I got married, I switched to glasses. (I heeded, you see, Dorothy Parker’s advice: “Men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses.”) So last Thursday, the doctor popped them in my eyes and off I went.
Last night I went to take them out. The right lens came out with no problem. The left—well, let’s just say that I had problems with it—many problems with it. It seemed to be glued to my eyeball—it wouldn’t come out for love nor money. By midnight, after my husband ran out to get special drops for dry eyes, I could do try no more. I fell into a fitful sleep, not sure whether or not the lens was even in my eye at that point, but too exhausted to care.
My doctor is just two doors away from our office, so as soon as they opened this morning I was on their doorstep. His two assistants were very sympathetic, but told me I must wait for the doctor who won’t be in for another half hour.
Even with all of this drama, I really love being able to see without frames on my face. I will persevere with these, I will!

My question for you is “Was the lense still in you eye in the morning?” I have had the same experience and many times after an exhausting session of lense removal, I realized the lense wasn’t even in there anymore! Keep trying..it will be worth it in he long run!
You are creating a whole new you in every way!
