Out, Out!
Oh, the stuff I’ve accumulated! What alarmed me most was to come upon so many things I do not like and which do not, even one iota, enhance my life. Most had been gifts—if someone gave me something, I kept it. And the craziest thing was, that although I never used the item, looked at it, or thought about it for years, I was yet hesitant yesterday over getting rid of it!
Looks like I’m likely to accomplish far more than just clearing out my basement—I’m coming upon those parts of my self that I stashed beneath my house as well.
“To change skins, evolve into new cycles, I feel one has to learn to discard. If one changes internally, one should not continue to live with the same objects. They reflect one’s mind and the psyche of yesterday. I throw away what has no dynamic, living use.” –Anais Nin
“People’s homes are a reflection of their lives. It is no accident that people have a huge weight problem in this country, and clutter is the same thing. Homes are an orgy of consumption.”—Peter Walsh
“There will be calmness, tranquility, when one is free from external objects and is not perturbed.” –Bruce Lee
What is cluttering your life? Are you ready to let it go?
Enjoy your day.

Dear Edie,
Lea shared. I suppose you can guess why. Along with a multitude of other things, letters are my particular downfall in the discard department. At my age it feels like I’m losing the person, though I know I don’t have enough life left to re-read them all. But thank you for the reminder, you are after all, RIGHT!
Sincerely, Jean
