Overcoming Fear
As I joyfully prepare for a full day of workshops tomorrow, my thoughts go back to the very first workshop I ever presented—and to all the fears and doubts and worries that took over nearly all of my waking hours the whole week before. What might be today had I let those fears, doubts and worries have their way with me?
Our fears remind us of our vulnerabilities, of those parts of ourselves that are yet in need of soothing and comforting and reassuring. If we choose to play it safe always and don’t ever scare ourselves, we never get around to working on the very parts of ourselves that need healing the most. And perhaps worst of all, we allow those parts to limit our lives, limit our possibilities and quell our dreams.
