Prayers for the New Year
It’s January 2nd— the decluttering begins—not just my home, but my body, mind, and spirit as well.
Decluttering my home will be the easiest by far. Wouldn’t it be marvelous if all we had to do to rid ourselves of such mind/spirit clutter as anger, resentment, unforgiveness, jealousy and hate , would be to stash it all into plastic bags and drag them out to the trash? And how wonderful would it be to shed as many pounds as we desire simply by wrapping them up and setting them out to the curb for pick-up?
As I move through each room, closet, drawer, nook and cranny in my home, tossing or giving away any “thing” I don’t absolutely love or absolutely need, I will understand that what I’m really doing is creating the openness necessary to do my deeper body, mind, and spirit work.
Let it be said about 2011 that it was a year that I lived my very best life.
““The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.” Hans Hoffman
“To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common – this is my symphony.” –William Emery Channing
“Use what you have to run towards your best - that’s how I now live my life.” –Oprah Winfrey
Enjoy your day!

I too want my symphony to be that of William Channing. Thank You Edie for this enlightening post.
My prayer would be to pass this symphony on.
Be Well
