Remembering Hogie
I think of my dear friend, teacher and mentor Richard Hoge, Hogie as I called him, throughout the year, but most especially in July, the month of his death, now eighteen years ago. Eighteen years since we sat up through the night talking, laughing until tears came, sharing our innermost thoughts and fears and dreams! I cannot count how often during these eighteen years that I wished I could share a tidbit with him, ask his advice on something, hear his voice.
You never ever get over missing someone you loved—you just figure out how to walk with the pebble in your shoe.
” “When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.” –Kahlil Gibran
” There are things that we don’t want to happen but have to accept, things we don’t want to know but have to learn, and people we can’t live without but have to let go.” –Author Unknown
“As long as I can I will look at this world for both of us. As long as I can I will laugh with the birds, I will sing with the flowers, I will pray to the stars, for both of us.” –Sascha, as posted on motivateus.
Enjoy your day!

Today is a month since my mothers death - I am still trying to figure out to walk with that pebble in my shoe. I so miss her.
