Reminders
Auto accident! An older driver, on a cell phone, ran a red light and slammed into my husband’s car. “Oh my,” she is quoted as having said shakily, “this never happened to me before.”
Thank God, no broken bones, no bleeding, no permanent injuries—just two badly banged up cars, jangled nerves, and a stiff neck leading to an eight-hour long visit to the ER.
Sobering reminders to be safe and also to remember that there’s a first time for everything.
“Out of this nettle, danger, we pluck this flower, safety.” –William Shakespeare
“Be alert! Accidents hurt.” –Author Unknown
“In 2008, at any given moment, over 800,000 Americans were texting, making calls, or using a handheld cell phone while driving during the daytime. With distracted driving killing nearly 6,000 Americans in the same year, it’s no mystery that cell phone use is risky for drivers.” Edgar Snyder & Associates, a law firm representing injured people.
Wait to phone home—be safe and enjoy your day!

To Matt and Edie…so glad you are OK Matt…No cell phones in my car! any more. It seems more and more we have to drive defensively.
