Spirit Matters
Still reading ever so slowly, Music of Silence, I learn that Prime, the third hour of the day in a monastary, begins with the giving out and distributing of work There is no rushing to complete one’s chores in this hour, but rather, a hearty welcoming of each task assigned, then a savoring of each step, a whole-hearted attending to each moment of the doing. In this way, even the most mundane act is transformed from a dreaded, mindless chore into a prayer.
So it is that I set this intention today as I begin to clean my house.
““Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom” –Victor Frankl
“ “Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.”—Greg Anderson
“Life is not lost by dying; life is lost minute by minute, day by dragging day, in all the small uncaring ways.—Stephen Vincent Benet
Enjoy your day!
