Things
What things are you attached to? Pema Chodron asked that at a retreat she led not long ago. She suggested sitting quietly and imagining giving each of your possessions away—one by one—until you come upon THE one that you find you can not let go—at least not easily. Whatever the reason—it belonged to a loved one, it holds memories dear to you, it is something you just absolutely love—to sit with those feelings until you realize that in truth, it is not you who owns that something, but rather, it is the something that owns you.
So I look around my room and begin to consider what is it that owns me?

I am possessed by a lot of things…I never thought of these things in this way. In this time there are so many things I do not need…but memories and pictures in my mind are always needed. Enjoy your day and thank you for this message.
