To Be A Rainbow
Maya Angelou is on my mind this morning—I just learned about and now ordered a new book of hers—Letter to my Daughter—her first new book in 10 years. Dr. Angelou gave birth to one son only, but she sees all women, everywhere in the world, as her daughters. In reading the reviews, I stumbled upon this piece of advice from her:
“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.”
It gave me pause—on this day and tomorrow, the last two of the year, in how many people’s clouds might I be a rainbow?
I’m starting off this morning by making two phone calls….
My wish for you these last two days of 2009 is that you too be a rainbow in as many people’s clouds as you are able.
Enjoy your day!
