You’re It!
I was the lucky recipient of a random act of kindness yesterday. Loading my groceries onto the belt of the check-out counter at my local supermarket, I was admittedly so lost in thought, I did not hear a fellow shopper’s whispered words to me the first time. I had to ask her to repeat them. “Will you be buying $50.00 or more at this store today?” “Yes,” I answered, wondering why it mattered to her. “Then you can use this—consider it my gift to you.” Smiling, she handed me a small piece of paper.
I looked down to find that it was a coupon for $5.00 off a grocery bill of $50.00 or more. Immediately I looked up to thank her, but she had vanished. She so made my day, I now can hardly wait to offer some random kindness to another.
“A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered. Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.” ~Charles H. Spurgeon
“Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.” ~Quoted in P.S. I Love You, compiled by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
“When I was young, I admired clever people. Now that I am old, I admire kind people.” ~Abraham Joshua Heschel
Enjoy your day!

Edie, thank you for sharing this. Acts of kindness, I believe, are ways we bring healing and peace to our world, along with playing our harp strings!!!! Blessings and love, jane
