Register now for our mastery level course, Conversations on Research for Harp Therapists, open to all musicians who play in healthcare. The first six weeks is the National Institute of Health’s course, “Protecting Human Research Participants.” We’ll learn about and discuss various aspects of conducting research, including research ethics, history, terminology and compliance with federal laws put into place to protect human research participants. Students will read each week’s lesson materials and then join in with the conversations to flesh out the material and apply the lessons learned to situational case histories. Week 7 offers participants the opportunity to review everything presented in the first 6 weeks and, optionally, to achieve a certificate on the material directly through the NIH. From weeks 8 through 12, we will work collaboratively on putting together an actual research proposal. This course, #WSMCE 4021-C20, runs from April 12 through July 12, 2010 and is offered through the Continuing Education Department of Bucks County Community College. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate from the College. Cost is $250.00.
