In the ED, a male patient walked to the door of his bay to tell me how wonderful the harp music was. He was began asking questions about the harp and talking about music in general. He told me that he plays guitar and plays a lot of gigs. He said he appreciates what we do and that many people don’t realize the effort a musician puts into his/her work. He commented that it requires a lot of concentration while walking with the harp, playing music, and engaging in conversation all while trying to be aware of our surroundings. I played both familiar tunes and noodles and he told me how much I was helping him relax. Before moving on, the patient bid me well encouraging me to go forward and provide the healing music to others. “God bless you,” he said.
