Emergency Medicine

This patient, sitting in a chair in the Emergency Room, was enjoying the music so much he did not want me to move on!  He was in obvious pain.  The nurse, who had been asking him questions, smiled at me and said to the patient, “Why don’t you just relax for a while and listen to the music?”  The patient looked at me and smiled and said, “I’d really like that!!”  He stood up with some difficulty and then lay down in the bed.  He continued to talk about lots of things then he said, “You know, when I came in my left leg and side hurt real bad but now the music has made the pain go away!”
