Heart and Soul

This patient was on a stretcher in the hall with her daughter and a nurse. She wore sunglasses and sat up when she heard me play.  I played “Heart & Soul.”  Her daughter said, “Hey Ma, remember you and me playing that together on the piano?”  Smiling and tearful, the patient licked her dry lips and smiled and said, “Oh yes, how nice.”
