Striking A Notable Difference In Healthcare Since 2002

Life is Beautiful

A visitor followed me down the hall and asked me to play for his wife.  He opened the door for me as I approached and I entered to find the patient sitting up in a chair.  She appeared partially alert, but she seemed to be feeling very ill.  She looked up at me, and I began to play an Irish tune.  This brought a smile to her face, and she looked at her husband and told him that I had picked just the right tune.  I then played “La Vie En Rose,” and the patient and her husband exchanged a loving look and smiled at each other.  The patient’s husband took her hand and sat beside her.  They told me about their many trips to France, the places they loved best, and the wonderful times they had had there.  They were still holding hands when I left.
