Remembering the Peace

This caregiver came to the door as I stood in the hallway outside.  At first she said nothing; she just leaned against the door frame with her eyes closed, seeming to soak the music in.  A staff member arrived after a few minutes, and the caregiver thanked me and explained that they were taking the patient home to hospice care.  She said, “This will give me something peaceful to remember in the hard times ahead.  Thank you.”
