Striking A Notable Difference In Healthcare Since 2002

“When I think of what the harp has meant to me, the words sharing and discovery come to mind. Music has always been part of my life – from piano lessons, to the Young People’s Concerts conducted by Leonard Bernstein, to clarinet, guitar, banjo and harpsichord. But, when I started harp lessons seven years ago, a new journey began. I met the most wonderful people, and began to discover things about music and myself that I never knew. Every time I have a lesson, every time I attend a workshop, and every time I to go a module, there are new things to learn. The process of discovery continues even now that I have graduated with certification. I can also share what I have learned each time I walk around the hospital or the nursing home or the clinic where I play. Sharing music brings joy to me – there is nothing more valuable than that. I cherish the harp, and am grateful for how it uplifts me and the patients that I play for.”
